mENTAL hEALTH FOOTBALL WALES
Our emphasis is on friendship, fun and for everyone to leave with a smile on their face.
MHFW is a registered Welsh charity, an FAW‑affiliated partner, a recognised Disability Football Club, Founding Partner of the South Wales Pan Disability League. The charity began as a lockdown support group formed in response to the tragic and preventable loss of a young man. It has since grown into an organisation led by people with lived experience of mental health challenges.
Today, we provide a welcoming, inclusive environment offering football‑based wellbeing activities for children, young people and adults with lived experience of mental ill‑health, homelessness, substance use, and those with physical, learning, intellectual, sensory, or psychological disabilities.
Our focus is simple: friendship, fun, and ensuring everyone leaves with a smile.

Our Three Key Projects
1. Fancy A Kickabout – Adults 16+
FREE weekly fun, football wellbeing sessions across Swansea, Neath & Port Talbot.
These sessions are designed for adults who cannot currently join mainstream teams but still love the game — creating a sporting environment where mental wellbeing is valued as much as physical performance.
We don’t put pressure on anyone. We understand that living with mental ill‑health can mean not knowing from one day to the next how you’ll feel. There is no expectation to attend regularly — simply drop in when you feel up to it.
