Happy International Women's Day! What better day to share some great news. We are really excited to tell you that MHFW will be taking a team of women, managed by Rachel Palmer, to the European Championships in Prora, Germany this July.
Although participation in International tournaments isn’t a key priority for MHFW, this is such a great opportunity that we couldn’t miss out on! #BreakTheBias Tournament news..... on the 15th December we will be hosting our second ALL DAY TOURNAMENT as a Charity, which will be made up of teams from Mental Health organisations / individuals across South Wales and the wider area.
Our intention is to continue growing the charity across the Mental Health community, enabling us to launch a Mental Health 5-a-side League programme in March 2022! To do this, we will need to balance numbers of tournament applications from organisations with those unaffiliated to organisations, but... APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!!! If you would like to register your interest in entering a team please email [email protected] and a link will be sent to you to access the form. Final confirmation regarding your Team Registration and further tournament details will be provided to all successful applicants by midday on the 24th November. #TogetherWeRise #mentalhealthmatters #InclusionAtItsBest #grassrootsfootballforall #realimpact The first ever Mental Health Football in Wales tournament was held today and proved a huge success with a fantastic team of volunteers making sure that everything ran smoothly. Charity members will have the opportunity to undergo a programme of personal self-development by being paired with a mentor and undergoing training in an area of specific interest, building skills knowledge and experience. We'll also provide a space on line and in ‘real life’ where people will access peer support and feel a sense of belonging and connection. We'll include and connect people even during COVID-19 safety measures, since activities can take place remotely as well as in person. The project will run as a pilot in Swansea and Newport until June 2021. |
